Mitsubishi Mirage

Used Mitsubishi Mirage

To do justice to the 2014 model, a new kid on the block, the Mirage as a hot little hatchback is yet to romanticize most car owners. But, a visit to Fuccillo Mitsubishi in Watertown, Adams, and Syracuse, NY is all it's going to take to see for yourselves the quality petite looks, the myriad of features, and nimble moves that are available in this cost-effective package.

Don't Judge a Car by its Exterior

For some, it's the bright paint colors - electric blue, purple, jade green, red - or the more sophisticated shades of silver, black, gray, and white that smarten up an otherwise dull styling. However, the design is an important feature because it makes easy for the car to slip along, reducing resistance along the way.

Coupled with the fact that it doesn't weight that much either, has a sufficiently powerful engine (a 1.2 liter 3-cylinder developing 74 horsepower) fitted under the hood, and is additionally eco friendly, the Mirage is one heck of a drive to own. The EPA estimates provided are 37/44 MPG city/highway for an automatic transmission; for the manual stick-shaft, it comes around 32/42 respectively.

The downside to this little beauty is the tricky ride and handling when it comes to driving on bumps and close to turns. A cruise on smooth pavement will only help disguise its ability to crash and the reduced grip that comes with skinny tires especially when you have to swerve in an emergency.

You Don't Need to Go Expensive to Afford Luxurious Amenities

Guided to provide an intimate approach, the subcompact guarantees you a fun road trip, up close and in conversation with the passengers, enjoying its features of convenience and comfort. For a car that is literally "cheap" to buy, it will offer great value regardless.

The interior is quite spacious and can fit 4 adults easily. There's decent materials used in the interior. The dash is particularly well laid out in a glossy black trim surrounding the climate and stereo-control as standard.

Moreover, the car is built to supply an 8.3 cubic feet that is more than enough for the kinds of gyms bags and groceries that a regular commuter may be inclined to have. Plus, the trunk comes with a nice carpet at its bottom. Need more space? Just fold down those back seats.

2014-Kia-Rio

Mitsubishi Outlander

Changing your car's tire is not the only situation that you may need to jack up your vehicle although it is the most common one. You may want to do so when inspecting brakes for one. Working on the exhaust is another reason. The important thing to take note of is that if you fail to do your job properly, causing the jack to in fact slide or fall, you may end up dropping the car, resulting in serious injury to yourself.

Blocking the Wheels

You have to keep blocks of brick or wood both behind and in front of the tires to stop your car from rolling but do it only after you have positioned your car on a smooth surface and in park. If you are using metal wheel chocks, place them around the tires of the side that will not be jacked up.

If there's nothing to block the wheels from rolling, a trick is to park alongside the curb and turn in the wheels of your Mitsubishi Outlander. While it may protect other innocent pedestrians or motorists, it is still risky for you if the car gets off the jack.

Placing the Jack

It is important that you are able to direct it to the specific location under the car. The owner's manual will help you determine where the contact point - fixed to help you stay on the jack - for the respective quarter of the car is. Slide the jack underneath them and crank it up slowly until you are sure it makes contact.

Lifting the Vehicle

Once it has, continue to raise the jack until you see the tires are just off the ground. For some, you may want to take it higher to allow the jack stands to slide under the car. Place the latter near to the jack points as much as possible because they'll be solely responsible for dealing with the weight of the car once the jack is removed.

Another thing to be careful about is the type of jack (scissor or hydraulic) you use to determine how you accomplish it.

As a precautionary measure, remember to test the car's stability before you begin to work underneath it. At the Fuccillo Mitsubishi dealerships in Watertown, Adams, and Syracuse, NY, this is accomplished by shaking the car a little: if it's indeed stable, the jack stands and the wheel chocks/blocks will remain intact in their positions. You can then remove the jack and carry on with the repair work.

Mitsubishi Galant

Used Mitsubishi Galant

So you want your used Mitsubishi Galant to look great and have decided to DIY repair a scratch yourself. As small as a scratch to the driver's door may be, it tends to leave an ugly look to an otherwise spectacular body. And if you don't have the money or the time enough to take a detour to the shop, you might be interested in the DIY options that the team for Fuccillo Mitsubishi in Watertown, Adams, and Syracuse, NY, suggest to their customers.

Precautions: Wear gloves, safety goggles, and a paint respirator. Cover the surrounding area too.

The Right Paint Color

You can check the firewall (bulkhead) to observe the paint code number in neat little prints beside the body number of your vehicle that you need to make the right purchase. You'll need to open the hood to get it.

Generally, the paint may come with an applicator or brush and unless it specifically states that you won't require a bottle of primer, you may want to consider getting it too.

Making it a Rust-Free Area

Whether the damage incurred is a tiny spot or a deep scratch, you should apply a rust arrestor to prevent the rust to continue to form below the new coat of paint.

Pre-treatment

For removing the loose paint from the affected area, use a nick sander. In order for the primer to stick to your car's surface properly, however, you need number 220 sandpaper - a small piece would be sufficient - to rough up the area. The next step is to wash to remove any residual debris and let it dry completely before applying the primer as a protective seal to the metal. Additionally, the primer will also fill tiny imperfections.

Apply the Primer

If the scratch has not exposed the bare metal and is even less than an inch, there's no need for you to prime the area first. You can simply paint. But if you are choosing to do so, a drop will be more than enough to cover it. Also make sure to wipe it off the original paint if it drops on it mistakenly. Allow to dry.

Paint and Wax

Test the paint in an inconspicuous area. If it doesn't react poorly and is a good match, proceed to cover the surface of the damaged spot completely, using a brush or a toothpick/matchstick if it's smaller, to work inward from the edges. Don't apply several coats or else it will run, peel off, or show. Wait for it to dry and then slowly and gently sand the area using a 1000-grit sandpaper. Polish and wax the car.

Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

Used Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

The steering and suspension system is one of the most important features in a vehicle, especially in your used Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. One that is running in first class condition and is the reason that you did not felt that last uneven or bumpy surface of the street and the fact that you were able to maneuver your car so well.

So, naturally when its different components break down and compromise the quality of your ride, compromise even your safety, you can manage a lot on your own with the following tips that the team over at the Faulkner Mazda dealership in Harrisburg, York, Lancaster, Hershey, Reading, or Carlisle have to offer.

The Cues, Causes, and Your Call to Action

Did you know that most problems that occur at the front end as well as the steering are due to the improper maintenance of your tires? As such, these are also the very places that the problems will affect first.

One condition that you may be facing might be loose steering. Reasons for this may include faulty shocks, loose wheel bearings, worn ball joints, and loose or worn out steering linkages. For each of these, you can respectively ask a professional mechanic for the shocks to be replaced, have the wheel bearings adjusted, and get the ball joints as well as the worn parts checked and serviced.

On the other hand, a hard steering too can turn out to be a problem for you. A low/incorrect power steering fluid, a defective power steering pump, a low/uneven tire pressure, and bent/poorly lubricated front-end parts generally cause this. These, likewise, can be taken care of properly by adding fluid as required, checking/repairing the pump, inflating the tires to correct pressure, or getting the defective parts replaced/lubricated.

A third is the vibration that you might feel through the steering wheel. A common factor is to have tire at improper pressures or out of balance. You can fix these issues by inflating and balancing them respectively whereas other reasons including loose wheel bearings and improper front-end alignment can be dealt with via readjustments as necessary.

Last but not the least is the occasion when you car may pull over to one side. This indicates that your tires have different levels of tread wear or that they are not properly aligned. Moreover, if the car does not seem to return to a smooth drive after hitting a bump, check for worn struts or shocks and even a damaged lead spring.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution

Used Mitsubishi Lancer

This blog post is from a guest author who bought the 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally from us and wanted to share their story.

On my recent visit to the Fuccillo Mitsubishi in Watertown, Adams, and Syracuse, NY, I happened to come across a five-seat midsize sedan and I was fascinated enough to ask it for a test drive. Up close it definitely looked better than most of the consumer reviews I"ve been reading about the Lancer.

A Single Engine and a 4-speed Automatic Combo

As hard as it may be for some to believe, the sedan is a pleasant drive. It won't be able to compete with the more competent family sedan buy for a cost-effective vehicle, it does offer reasonable power and a fuel-economy of 21 mpg city/30 mpg/highway. We certainly connected because it was a noiseless cruise for me, with practically zero problems among the traffic and on the highway. I found the steering and braking smooth too.

A Nice Interior - Surprisingly

A busy place to be inside, the trim level includes as standard a tilt-only steering wheel, a height-adjustable driver's seat, air conditioning, power accessories, and a six-speaker audio system complete with an auxiliary input. Even though, some may feel deprived of options like the rearview camera, Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, and a touchscreen navigation system that are generally featured in such cars, and some of which are incidentally provided by the higher SE level, this one too is all about comfort and utility.

With its leather package, you can enhance the rear lip spoiler along with the leather upholstery. But even without it, of the car boasts quality materials, materials that are soft to touch and still manage to exude a class despite being somewhat of a clichTd item as the silver trim at the center of the dashboard is. What's more, everything is clearly marked as far as the controls are concerned making them easy to use.

I was additionally glad to note too that the seats were meant to offer substantial support both to the driver and to the companions. This is especially true when you compare it to any other average midsize sedan. The ample room in fact makes up for the smaller trunk size that the car can provide. The Galant got the highest rating for side and frontal-offset impacts though securing a marginal and acceptable for the rear crash protection and roof strength.
