For the 2016 model year, Mitsubishi has released a new SEL trim on the sporty Lancer, offering alloy wheels as standard making it eligible for the larger engine and all-wheel drive, upping driving pleasure. The first thing that catches your eye is that the front end has a more aerodynamic stance; styling has been modified to accommodate LED running lights. The exterior structure has been reinforced at key points to resist torsion and to keep tighter control on corners that make rough road driving more comfortable. The full range of Lancer trims now come with standard stability control, anti-lock brakes, seven airbags and disc brakes for each wheel.
With a taller profile, the Lancer has a roomier feel and more legroom than others in the compact sedan class. The rear seating delivers accommodation close to a more midsize sedan. Lancer also provides a generous cargo area with unrivalled room and ease of entry. The standard seats are firm and supportive up front with an adult-friendly bench in the rear. The interior comes with a fully automatic climate control system for front and rear seating areas. The Fuse voice-recognition system offers hands-free mobile-device operation. The dash is minimalist, with attractive displays accompanying the voice-activated infotainment system and USB port.
For 2016, a 7-inch touchscreen navigation comes as an option for every version. Other options include rear parking sensors and LED fog lights.
A quick overview of what each trim offers shows you that there are many trim options for different budgets. Give Fuccillo Mitsubishi a call to see which options are best suited for you and your needs!
The 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer comes in ES, SE, SEL and GT trim levels.
The ES starts with the 2.0-liter engine, LED running lights, fog lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, power accessories, keyless entry, automatic climate control, a height-adjustable driver's seat, a color driver-information display, cruise control and a 4-speaker audio system with Fuse voice control, a USB port and Bluetooth connectivity.
The SE adds push-button ignition, heated front seats, a rearview camera, a 6-speaker audio system and a 6.1-in touchscreen display with satellite radio and HD Radio.
The SEL brings an upgraded interior trim with leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlights.
The GT elevates to a sport-tuned suspension, 18-in alloy wheels, keyless entry/starting, sportier seats and upholstery, a 9-speaker Rockford Fosgate audio system, a sunroof and a rear spoiler.
Under the hood, the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) has been modified, presenting a stronger automatic transmission significantly offsetting the lag of manual gear changes.
The front-wheel-drive Lancer ES comes standard with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 148 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. The standard transmission is a 5-speed manual. Both the SE and SEL have all-wheel drive and the CVT as standard along with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 168 hp and 167 lb-ft of torque. GT model has front-wheel drive and a standard-issue 5-speed manual, but with the 2.4-liter engine.
